Michael Quinn
October 3, 1927 - April 19, 2017
Gave his soul to Jesus Christ at the Villages of Aspen Lake on April 19, 2017 aged 89 years, after a valiant battle with Alzheimer’s. Devoted husband of 64 years to Theresa (nee St. Pierre). Dear father of Larry (Diane), Marie-Anne (Chuck Scarpelli), Yvonne Quinn-Chittle, Carmelle Quinn, Michael Jr. of Trois-Rivieres, Tom (Deanna Gerard) of North Bay, Bill of Ottawa, and Julie (Dave Fortin). Pepe to 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Patrick V. and Mary Mabel (Johnston) Quinn and brother Patrick (1999); half-brother Howard Morton (1918) and half-sister Doreen (Morton) Cooke (1990) of Kingston. Brother-in-law of Dr. Tom and Julie-Anne Poisson and Jeannine St. Pierre. Predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law Drs. Yvonne and Peter Farina of Florida, Adrian and Annette St. Pierre, Maurice St. Pierre, Whitey (Gerard) and Marguerite St. Pierre, Marie-Jeanne St. Pierre, William and Simone St. Pierre. Michael served the Province of Ontario as Regional Assessment Commissioner in Essex, Etobicoke and York, London area, and Kent-Lambton regions. After retiring in 1988, he sold real estate for Thomas Lavin Realty, performed real estate appraisals and served on the Assessment Review Board and on the Committee of Adjustment in Tecumseh. Michael was an active member of St. Anne’s Parish in Tecumseh and the St. Anne Third Order Franciscan Fraternity, and the former treasurer of WOOMB Canada. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Villages of Aspen Lake for their care and compassion. Friends may call at Marcotte Funeral Home, 12105 Tecumseh Rd. 519-735-2830 on Thursday, April, 20th 2017 from 2pm - 5pm and 7pm - 9pm. Parish prayers will begin at 4:00 pm. Visitation will continue Friday, April 21, 2017 from 10am - 11am at St. Anne’s Parish followed by a funeral Mass beginning at 11 am. In kindness, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Windsor, or Mass offerings for the repose of Michael’s soul.
